Bundling Up

The poem, Bundling Up, humorously captures the struggles and joys of winter bundling.

Through snow and frost, I’ll shuffle along, laughing at myself.

Winter has a way of testing our patience, especially when it comes to dressing for the cold. With layers upon layers, we find ourselves looking more like stuffed snowmen than people! Bundling Up brings a smile to those frosty days, reminding us that even in the chill, there’s humor to be found. This poem shows how laughter can warm us, even when the temperatures drop.

Bundling Up

Catherine Pulsifer

I've got on mittens, a scarf, and a hat,
Can't tell where I end, I'm wrapped up that fat!
Moving's a task, but at least I'm warm,
A human burrito, winter's new norm!

My boots weigh me down, they're clunky and wide,
I waddle like a penguin with no place to hide.
Each step's an adventure, my balance unsure,
But freezing my toes? That I'll not endure!

My coat's so puffy, I'm twice my size,
I see my breath in the air as it flies.
Gloves on my hands, so thick and tight,
Trying to grab things? Oh, what a sight!

The hat on my head keeps slipping askew,
Covering my eyes, blocking the view.
But the chill’s held at bay, so I won't complain,
Though dressing like this is a comical strain!

Winter's a season that tests us all,
But I'll stay snug, though I look like a ball.
Through snow and frost, I'll shuffle along,
Laughing at myself as I hum a warm song!
