What If
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
If you give up and quit
You will always wonder "what if"
Take a deep breath and start again
Let learning and failure be a friend.
Stick to the task be like a dog
Giving up keeps you in a fog.
Refocus your thinking
Start at the beginning.
Persistence pays off no matter what
Quitting just closes everything shut
If you are determined you'll find a way
And then you'll never wonder "what if" someday!

Books
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Books come in all sizes and shapes
Books are like different landscapes
Each with a story to tell
Some are okay and some are swell.
To read a good book is like a vacation
To learn from a book and put it in application
To relax and enjoy the story
Is a day filled with glory.

Justice For Wrong Done
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
We look for justice for wrongs done
We have standards we declare our rights
And sometimes the system seems to one
Doesn't work and we want to fight.
But fighting solves not a thing
Violence is never the answer
Only more hurt does it bring.
Violence is like a cancer.
The truth will always win
Allow justice to be done
Don't let your patience wear thin
Always be the calm one.

Treasured Gift
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Friendship is a treasured gift
Friends can give us an uplift
They can make us smile when we are down
They are there when we frown.
Be the type of friend you would want
Be a true confidant
Friendship is rare so make sure you
Tell them how much you care.

God's Time
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
God's time is different than ours
The Lord who made the moon and the stars
Has time which we don't understand
All things were created on his command.
With God a day is like a thousand years
So as we pray about our fears
Trust in Him and His timing too
He knows better than we do.
And a thousand years are like a day
That is hard to understand, you say
He sees the present and the future
Which makes His timing such a treasure.

Happy Birthday
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
As we celebrate your special day,
A day to honor you in every way.
We look with joy and never fear,
As we send lots of birthday cheer.
Today marks a milestone so grand,
So keep your spirit strong and stand.
Enjoy all the wonder that's here,
Listen as we sing Happy Birthday so clear.
Happy Birthday! Make sure to smile wide,
We celebrate you with pride!
Celebrate and be happy, you made it to another year,
Wishing you many blessings in upcoming year!

Some Inspiration
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Need some inspiration
Look back over the generations
Read about people who
Difficult times they went through.
We sometimes think we have it bad
We feel down and so sad
But yet when you look and see
What others accomplished, what we could be.
Read a biography or two
It will give you ideas of what to do
When you are feeling defeated and
Up against many demands.
Life lessons others have had
Can be our launching pad
Be inspired don't be blue
You can achieve success too!

What Is A Good Life
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
"What is a good life," asked the child
That question made me think awhile
I thought of many different material things
And then questioned, do happiness they bring?
So then I thought about people, not things
It's true, relationships they bring
Much happiness and smiles too
The people who are with you through and through.
And helping others when they are down
Can bring so much to those who frown
And you get back more than you give
You can help take away the negative.
So my answer to the child,
Was one that's not so wild,
"The good life is love shared and given,
That truly is good livin'."

State Of Mind
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Age is all a state of mind
It is just a number it is not defined
You can act and feel very old
But if the truth be told
You can be old and act very young
There are many with a song still to be sung.
Just because a number you hit
That doesn't mean all you can do is knit
There are many who achieve many things
And live their life accepting what it brings
Don't let your age stop you this day
Achieve your goals and be on your way!

Don't Waste Your Days
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Life is too short to waste your days
Wake up each morning and be glad to say
Good morning world what shall I do today
Thank God you are awake and can have your way.
Love the people who surround you
Don't waste the day being blue
Find the good in everything
Lift your voice and sing.
Look for opportunities to make others smile
Do this every day not just once in a while
Life is just too short not to help others
Never forget that we are all brothers.
Life is a gift and goes by fast
Look back you'll see how quickly it has past
Live each day, do your best
And you will find that you are blessed!

Challenges We Face
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Life's challenges can
Test our attitude,
We can be bitter or
Find the gratitude.
Quitting solves nothing
But will leave us feeling blue
Look for other ways,
Ask others for help to make it through.
We should be persistent
And not give up so soon,
A difficult challenge presents
An opportunity to bloom.
With a positive attitude
And one step at a time
Overcome the challenge
And continue to climb!

Life Passes By
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
How quickly time goes by
When we are young we wish it away
We can't wait to be a bit older
And then before we know it, it's the day.
Where did the time go we wonder
It seems like only yesterday
But the years fly by like thunder
We find ourselves turning gray.
We hear the saying, enjoy the moment
As time continues to tick on by
We need to enjoy the present
Who knows the day we will die.
