Bible Verses on The Birth of Jesus
These verses focus on the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. They capture the divine nature of His arrival and the profound significance of His humble beginnings.
We also offer a collection of Christian Christmas Poems that focus on Jesus.
Luke 2:8-12 (MSG):
There were shepherds camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, "Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger."
The shepherds were the first to hear of God's great gift to the world. That in itself sends us a message, it was not the rich and powerful that Jesus birth was announced first, it was a lowly shepherd.
Isaiah 7:14 (NIV):
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
An amazing verse considering it was written approximately 700 years before Jesus was born.
Matthew 1:21 (CEV):
Then after her baby is born, name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
Luke 2:11 (NET):

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV):
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The many names referring to Jesus was spoken by Isaiah many hundreds of years before His birth.
Isaiah 7:14 (NIV):
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
