Perception Is Everything
written by Byron Pulsifer, ©2005
If you think there's a ghost behind the tree, there IS a ghost behind the tree. I'm not really talking about ghosts rather I am talking about perceptions.
A Perception Is
A perception, or how you see things, determines how you will react, or what you won't do.
Take, for example, the choice you make every workday. Do you choose to see each day with vitality, or do you see each workday filled with problems? You are the one who decides how you will face each problem you encounter.
If you get up and sense it is going to be a good day, then a good day
you will have. And the opposite is true, if you sense it is going to
be a bad day, chances are you will attract negativity to yourself and you will
end up having a bad day.
Do You See A Roadblock?
If you perceive a problem as a roadblock, you'll probably get stuck and nothing will change.
On the other hand, if your perception of a problem is an opportunity to discover, to resolve, to move ahead, then you'll be able to tackle each problem headlong without hesitation.
Each time we see a problem as a means to a resolution, we are also reducing inherent stress that dominates when problems are seen as roadblocks.
We Have Control
Perceptions are part and parcel of our happiness, how we see the world on an on-going basis. Every hour of every day we have control if we choose to have control.
When we give in to negative thinking, or adopt a "I can't" attitude, you're opening the gateway to stress. The more we languor with the "I can't" attitude, or "it can't be done" attitude, the more stress you invite.
And, do yourself a favour. Avoid naysayers, or problem-focused people - all they can do is provide reinforcement to drag you down to their level of inaction, or "it can't be done" attitude.
Positive or Negative
Perceptions. They can be positive or negative.
Which do you prefer?
