Fun With Grandkids
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Grandma cooks and bakes her treats,
Grandpa knows just what to do;
He’ll find a project or two,
And fun with grandkids ensues.
Blowing bubbles and playing hide-n-seek,
Building forts out of Grandpa’s sheet;
Grandma’s stories surely will peak,
We love the stories that she speaks.
Racing against the clock with Grandpa,
Hitting high notes with Grandma;
Laughing, shouting, and having fun
There is no other day that compares to this one! -
Such Joy
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Grandchildren bring such joy
It doesn't matter if a girl or a boy.
They add life happiness
With every little hug and kiss.
They make you laugh and sing
Oh, such joy they do bring.
To see a smile on their face
To them, you want to embrace.
They are a gift from God above
They bring into our lives much love
Count my blessings every day
For these children in every way. -
Grandchildren Change Our Lives
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Grandchildren, bring such joy to our lives!
They make us laugh, they bring us smiles.
Adored and cherished, oh ever so much-
We love it when they come to visit us.
Seeing them brings back the youth of our days.
Life with them fills us in such lovely ways.
We are so happy with all that they do -
Grandchildren change our lives in so many ways! -
Such A Blessing
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Grandchildren, such a blessing in every way,
Sparking life and joy each and every day.
Much laughter and joy to have them around,
Our youth from the past we think we've found.
Time spent with our grandchildren is always too short,
Except on days that are filled with sports..
Memories made of days gone by come back alive,
So much love is shown when grandkids arrive. -
Time With Grandchildren
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Time with grandchildren makes my heart so full,
Making memories, laughter and joy, no school!
Baking cookies with them in the kitchen at night,
Snuggles and laughter 'til fills the room with delight.
Nurturing our special bond is something I love to do -
Precious time spent making memories that enrich each of us too! -
Unlike Any Other
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
A grandchild is unlike any other
Of your life, they become the center
This little one is loved right away
The day they are born is a special day.
They make your heart melt when you see
This grandchild so very tiny
They open their eyes and look up at you
Your heart fills with love so true. -
Granted A Wish
Poet: Author Unknown
If we were granted any wish, I'll tell you what we'd do,
We'd wish our kids were small again, for just a month or two.
To hear their squeals of laughter, to watch them while they play.
And when they ask us to join in, we wouldn't say, "Not today."
To hug again their chubby frames, to kiss away their tears,
and cherish childhood innocence that washed away the years.
Then when it's story time again, we'd stay a little longer,
to answer questions, sing the songs, so memories would be stronger.
But time is callous, wishes, myth, yet God in all his wisdom,
has given us another chance before we join his kingdom.
Your faces may not be just the same, your names are changed, 'tis true,
but yet the smile that radiates reminds us so much of you.
God must have known that grandparents would need a chance or two.
For many little happy things, we hadn't time to do.
So God gave love to grandparents to equal that before, that,
in effect embraces those little lives they bore. -
The First
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
The first time you see them
They are such a gem
The first time they smile at you
You don't know what to do.
The first time they say your name
You feel you have new-found fame
And when they give you a kiss
Your eyes fill with mist.
The first time they hold your hand
You think, oh wow, this is so grand.
The first time you see them walk
To everyone, you do talk.
There are many firsts with grandchildren
You find you are full of love and affection
You never tire of seeing them arrive
You look forward to the time and thrive.
You do things you haven't done in years
They make you laugh until you have tears
You play all the games - like hide and seek
And you don't care if they peak.
It is different with your child's child
Experience you now have compiled
You are a bit more relaxed too
You don't have the pressures to pursue.
So enjoy all the firsts, there is no hurry
As they grow in such a flurry
With them, wisdom you will share
Having grandkids is a wonderful affair. -
They Grow Quickly
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Oh, how quickly grandchildren grow,
From tiny tots to teens, you know.
Enjoy them now, with laughter and play,
For tomorrow they'll be on their own way.
Cherish each moment, embrace the joy,
As time flies by for every girl and boy.
So while they're young and full of fun,
Treasure these days, for soon they'll be done. -
Grandchildren Bring
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Grandchildren bring many a smile
For our grandkids, I would walk miles.
They make us laugh out loud
Of them, we are so proud.
They bring sunshine on a rainy day
And children's games we do play.
They keep us full of energy and feeling young
With them forgotten songs we have sung.
The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
Is truly the grandkids that we see grow
As grandparents, we know how fast
Children grow, time goes quickly, it won't last.
So as we watch them develop and grow
We shower them with love and show
How very special they are to us
And over them, we make a fuss!
