Have you ever wondered what it will be like to walk in Heaven, to see the beauty beyond this world, and to stand in the presence of Jesus? Stroll in Heaven by Jason Kirk Bartley paints a touching picture of that moment—the joy, the peace, and the gratitude of a life lived in faith.

This poem reminds us of the promise of eternity, the guidance of Christ throughout our lives, and the impact of sharing our faith with others. As you read, may it bring comfort and encouragement, knowing that one day, we too may walk those golden streets with our Savior by our side.

Stroll in Heaven

Poet: Jason Kirk Bartley

I closed my eyes, and opened them to eternity.
Streets of gold were as far as my eyes could see.
Jesus was there to welcome me.
His nail-scarred hands had claimed my victory.

He strolled with me right by my side
along the crystal sea and rolling tide.
The waves came crashing to the shore.
My Lord, my Lord, forevermore.

I followed Him along this beach.
He hardly talked, for He did not have to preach.
I'd made it to the other side,
to the one who had been crucified.

Away my sin had He cast,
into a void that was so vast.
I followed Jesus here and there,
with many questions that He answered with care.
"Lord why must we go through such things?
This life was hard with all it brings, trouble and much sufferings."

Jesus just told me about the prayers the one's He didn't answer, but some He did.
He had protected me even as a kid.
He showed me where the danger had been.
He showed me where I was saved from sin.

Then a man approached me there.
He thanked me for leading him in "the sinners prayer."
I had led him to Jesus in that life.
Now He was saved with his wife.
This prayer had taken Him to the cross.
This saved Him from being utterly lost.

A little child came and pounced onto my lap.
He was a cute little chap.
An abortion had claimed this little guy.
Now with Jesus He was nigh.
Jesus did not forget.
Now in Heaven they had met.

Another man who had been so poor,
thanked me for bringing Jesus to his door.
Now He's alive forevermore.
He now had wealth within his soul.
His name had been written on the roll.

I kept walking and the crowd did mount.
Each one thanked me for bringing them to the fount.
Many in number, I could not count.
A Heavenly army in the sky.
Serving our Savior, praises fly.

They followed Jesus here and there.
They had no more worries and no more cares.
Then the angels began to sing. Then music did they play.
A golden harp, at my feet they lay.

I strummed and strummed above their sound.
Everyone joined in from all around.
We danced in the streets of glory.
This is my song. This is my story.
