I Appreciate You
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer, ©2019
Thanks my friend for always being there
It doesn't matter what you're doing or where.
I can always count on you
To pick me up when I am blue.
Friends like you are far and few
You're an example of a friend that is true.
I just want to say I appreciate you
For all you are in every way!

You help me overcome any strife.

Thanks
Poet: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
So walking here in twilight, O my friends!
I hear your voices softened by the distance,
And pause and turn to listen, as each sends
His words of friendship, comfort, and assistance.
Thanks for the sympathies that ye have shown!
Thanks for each kindly word, each silent token,
That teaches me, when seeming most alone,
Friends are around us, though no word be spoken.

Ever Near
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Thank you, dear friend, for being ever near,
Through joyful days and days with tears.
From birthdays celebrated with laughter's cheer,
To quieter moments as the years disappear.
You're always there I can count on you
A good friend you are that's so true.
The memories we've crafted, the support you show
Grateful am I, I want you to know!

Words Just Don't Express
by Catherine Pulsifer, © 2020
Words just don't express
My wish for your happiness
A true friend you have been to me
I can only hope I can be
A friend that cares and supports you too
And bring you happiness by what I do.
We meet a lot of people along the way
But you are the best, my friend, I must say.
Thank you for being around
Even when we're silly and act like clowns.
And when the challenges of life do come
You're always there, you're awesome!
So this poem was written just for you
A friend, that is so true
Thank you for being there
Even when I give you the glare.
Thank you for your smile so sweet
I am so glad that we did meet.
So as you can see the words just can't express
My thanks to you, as a friend you're the best.
As life journeys on, more laughs we will share
And adventures we will see when we dare
And together the challenges we will face
Together life we will embrace.

I Can't Imagine
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
I can't imagine life without you
All the talks and all we do
Into our life people come
But friends like you are truly awesome.
Both in the good times and the sad
We are true comrades
When I am feeling blue
I pick up the phone and call you!
Good friends like you are very few
I truly appreciate you!

Our Friendship
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
No matter what we face in our life,
You have been there, no matter the strife.
Through laughter and tears,
Our friendship has stood the test of years.
You are always there with a helping hand.
Together we have faced life's shifting sands.
Never doubt that I hold you dear,
My friend, always near and ever sincere.

To A Friend
Poet Grace Stricker Dawson
You entered my life in a casual way,
And saw at a glance what I needed;
There were others who passed me or met me each day,
But never a one of them heeded.
Perhaps you were thinking of other folks more,
Or chance simply seemed to decree it,
I know there were many such chances before,
But the others-well, they didn't see it.
You said just the thing that I wished you would say,
And you made me believe that you meant it;
I held up my head in the old gallant way,
And resolved you should never repent it.
There are times when encouragement means such a lot,
And a word is enough to convey it;
There were others who could have, as easy as not,
But, just the same, they didn't say it.
There may have been someone who could have done more
To help me along, though I doubt it;
What I needed was cheering, and always before
They had let me plod onward without it.
You helped to refashion the dream of my heart,
And made me turn eagerly to it;
There were others who might have (I question that part)-
But, after all, they didn't do it

If I Could Catch A Rainbow
Poet: Unknown
If I could catch a rainbow, I would do it just for you.
And share with you its beauty, on the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain, you could call it your very own.
A place to find serenity; a place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles, I would toss them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding, are impossible for me.
I cannot build a mountain, or catch a rainbow fair.
But let me be what I know best... A friend who's always there.

A Greeting
Poet: Edgar A. Guest
If every day of yours were fine
And every sky of yours were blue.
You couldn't know such joy of mine.
The joy of being friend to you.
You've brushed away the clouds of care
And often dried the bitter tears.
And left a debt I couldn't square
If I should live a thousand years.
I'm wishing you'll as happy be
As I am all this journey through.
Who have this joy to comfort me.
The joy o' being friend to you.

Every Joy To You
Poet: J. S. Ogilvie
Every joy that heaven can send;
Wealth, and every kind of treasure;
Health and love to thee, my friend,
And happiness without measure.
